Democracy Day Message from the Network of Civil Society Organizations in Borno State
Your Excellency,
Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, CON, FNSE, mni
Executive Governor of Borno State
On this occasion of Democracy Day, June 12, the Network of Civil Society Organizations in Borno State extends its warmest congratulations to Your Excellency and the resilient people of Borno State.

We commend your unwavering commitment to rebuilding lives, restoring hope, and delivering impactful governance amidst daunting challenges. Your administration’s strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and humanitarian interventions remain commendable and a beacon of resilience and innovation across Nigeria.

As we mark this day celebrating Nigeria’s democratic journey, we are particularly inspired by Your Excellency’s ongoing efforts to translate democracy into tangible benefits for citizens. We note with great admiration that, just yesterday, you commissioned several life-transforming projects and flagged off the commencement of new ones across critical sectors. These include infrastructure upgrades, education facilities, health interventions, and community-based development projects all geared towards improving the quality of life for the people of Borno State.

Such actions speak volumes of your proactive leadership and unwavering dedication to meeting the urgent needs of the people while laying the foundation for sustainable peace and development.

As partners in development and peacebuilding, we also use this opportunity to humbly appeal for a more proactive and community-driven approach to security, particularly in vulnerable and remote areas. Equally, we encourage the expansion of people-centered economic empowerment programs to address the rising poverty and unemployment, especially among women and youth.

Your continued leadership and collaboration with civil society remain vital to advancing inclusive development and sustaining peace in Borno State. We reaffirm our commitment to working hand in hand with your administration to consolidate democratic gains and uplift our communities.

Once again, congratulations on this milestone of democratic governance.

Long live Borno State.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Signed,
Comr. Bulama Abiso
