According to Engr. Ibrahim Baba, Borno State Coordinator of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), Governor Babagana Umara Zulum's significant investment in education is a strategic move towards securing a brighter future for the state.
Speaking to journalists at an event marking the governor's first year in his second term, Engr. Baba highlighted the impressive achievements under the AGILE project, a initiative of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation. Within a year, the governor has executed over 50 projects across the state, including:
- Construction of 2 mega schools
- 25 junior and senior schools, fully furnished and equipped with learning materials
- Training and retraining of teachers and students in life and digital skills
- Conditional cash transfers to poor households to encourage school enrollment
Engr. Baba expressed optimism that these efforts will lead to increased enrollment, retention, and completion of school by Borno State children, ultimately contributing to a prosperous future for the state. He offered his prayers for Governor Zulum's continued good health, guidance, and protection as he delivers on his promise of good governance.
