The Borno State Community of Physically Challenged Persons gathered for their monthly meeting, which coincided with their annual prayer session for peace and prosperity in Borno State and Nigeria as a whole. The event featured recitations from the Holy Quran, feeding of the less privileged, and prayers for Nigerian leaders, including President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shetima, and Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
In attendance was the Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo, whose ministry oversees the welfare of the disabled community in the state. She commended the inclusivity of the Prof. Zulum administration, stating, "Allahamdullillah, it's all about inclusivity, where every individual is a critical stakeholder. The PLWD are very active in state programs, especially MOWASD, and have organized prayer sessions for peace and progress."
Mohammed Abubakar, State Chairman of the Physically Challenged Persons, explained that while they usually hold monthly prayers, this annual edition was more significant due to the nationwide hardships. He expressed gratitude to Governor Zulum for his support through the Ministry of Women Affairs, led by Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo.
